The cover shows Daniel Radcliffe (of Harry Potter fame) who played the part of John Kipling in the tv play, and beside him Rudyard Kipling, with in the background solldiers searching the battlefield of Loos for bodies. John disappeared there in 1915.
The book tells of the dreadful effect that John's death had on Rudyard Kipling and the years of desperate searching that failed to find John. It also tells of the supposed identification of the John's body, something that the authors are uneasy with.
We wrote our first small guide-books to the battlefields almost 40 years ago and since then have enlarged and updated them regularly. We do all of the research ourselves and take all of the photos on the ground.
Our aim is to make everything easy to find and easy to understand. There are many maps and photographs to help recognition and most books have GPS.
Have a good trip.
